Meat Pizza Pie

So let’s make a delicious Meat Pizza Pie!

Ingredients you will need:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 cups flour (plus extra for rolling dough)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp salt (for dough)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup mushrooms, chopped
  • 1/4 cup red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt (for beef)
  • 1 tsp dry parsley
  • 1/3 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 4 tbsp Ricotta cheese
  • 3/4 of 24oz jar red sauce OR 2 cups homemade red sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  1. preheat oven to 375
  2. In a pan on low-med heat cook the ground beef
  3. meanwhile, in a large bowl combine the flour, vegetable oil,  salt (for dough), sugar, and water.
  4. lightly flour your surface, knead the dough, and split in half saving one half for later. 20160502_171544
  5. Roll out one half of dough
  6. flour lightly your pie pan and place your rolled out dough in the pie pan leaving a little extra around the edge.
  7. Place a nice coating of red sauce on the bottom of the dough in your pie pan. Set aside.20160502_172217
  8. chop your onions, mushrooms, and red pepper and add to the ground beef.
  9. Add to the beef: garlic powder, onion powder, salt (for beef), parsley and stir. 20160502_173054
  10. Sauté the meat mixture for 2 minutes then add the mixture on top of the red sauce of the pie.
  11. top the meat mixture with more red sauce.20160502_173408
  12. top the sauce with the ricotta cheese, evenly.
  13. shred the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese and top your pie  with both cheeses.

  14. top the cheese with the rest of the sauce and sprinkle with salt and pepper. 20160502_174558
  15. Roll out the other half of dough and place on top of the pie trimming any excess off the edges but leaving a little to connect the bottom layer of dough to this top layer of dough. Pinch the edges forming a pie crust and sealing the pie. 20160502_174909
  16. Place in oven uncovered and bake for 20 minutes. 20160502_181245
